ACES is excited to partner with to host a virtual Focused Group for Minecraft enthusiasts!

The 6 week series is geared towards kids who love computer games and need some extra practice building friendships. ACES clients will target social skills and practice making friends through fun and interactive Minecraft games.

Prerequisite Skills for Participants:

• Meet ACES Focused Group Pre-Requisites
• Can follow multi-step instructions on the computer
• Sits at computer for at least 50 minutes without attempts to leave
• Has basic computer skills (e.g. how to simultaneously use a mouse with one hand while navigating with the WASD keys with the other, how to identify keys and and buttons by reading what they say, etc.)

Other Prerequisites

• Computer running Windows 10 or a recent release of OSX.
• Purchased and installed Minecraft Java edition.
• Access to a stable consumer level broadband internet connection
• Permissions to override anything that prevents MC and web conferencing.
• Has access to headphones, microphone, and a webcam.
• Has an adult available to supervise the child during the sessions and help when needed

Enrollment for Part 3 of Adolescent Health Series (AHS) is now open!

This 5-week Telehealth course will begin on October 5th  and continue every Thursday through November 2nd from 4:00 p.m. – 6:00 p.m. PST.  Adolescent Health Series is designed to educate students with autism and related disabilities on relationships, their changing bodies, cyber safety, health, and nutrition.

Below are topics that we may discuss during these sessions:

• BMI – Body Mass Index
• Exercise
• Food Groups and Healthy Meals
• Portion sizes and calories
• And much more!

Location: via Telehealth                            Ages: 11-18+

Disney/Pixar Day will be coming to your ACES clinic for a memorable experience you do not want to miss!

At ACES Disney/Pixar day you’ll have an opportunity to sing and dance to your favorite Disney songs, build your own Pixar Monster, play Disney charades, and share in a variety of other fun activities with peers.

**Children are encouraged to wear Disney costumes or Disney themed clothing to this event.

Open ACES is a clinic-based program for clients of all ages and abilities to come to our clinic to socialize, play, and engage in thematic curriculum that promotes learning and new experiences. ACES is excited to partner with MakerKids to host a virtual Focused Group for clients interested in Coding!

In this 6 week series, clients will learn everything they need to know to code their very own game: character development, storyboarding, animation, environment and level design, beta testing and, of course, coding! Kids will code games, websites and more. They learn how computers work, exercise creativity by coming up with ideas for how their project will look and feel, and build resilience and perseverance when trouble-shooting their code.

Skills Learned: Resilience, Confidence, Internet Safety, Logic, Game Design, Beta-Testing

Prerequisite Skills for Participants:

• Meet ACES Focused Group Pre-Requisites
• Can follow multi-step instructions on the computer
• Sits at computer for at least 50 minutes without attempts to leave
• Has basic computer skills (e.g. how to simultaneously use a mouse with one hand while navigating with the WASD keys with the other, how to identify keys and and buttons by reading what they say, etc.)

Other Prerequisites

• Computer running Windows 10 or a recent release of OSX.
• Chrome browser.
• Access to a stable consumer level broadband internet connection
• Permissions to override anything that prevents web conferencing.
• Has access to headphones, microphone, and a webcam.
• Has an adult available to supervise the child during the sessions and help when needed
