- What Is the Estimated Timeline of the Assessment Process?
The assessment timeline can vary from one (1) to seven (7) weeks. ACES will work to ensure a shorter and efficient timeline for assessment; however, the assessment timeline will ultimately depend on your funding source. Refer to #5 for more details about our assessment. Return to Menu
- Why Is It Necessary for Me to Fill out Multiple Forms Before the Assessment Appointment Is Scheduled?
- The more information we have ahead of time, the more time we can spend on clinical matters and be as effective and efficient during the assessment process.
- Due to insurance limitations, we only have a limited amount of face-to-face time, and we want to have a better picture of the person seeking services. All the requested information is required by the funding source and/or will help us develop the best individualized treatment plan for services.Return to Menu

- How Long Does ABA Last?
ABA is highly individualized so it’s hard to say how long ABA services may be necessary. Our goal at ACES is to plan for graduation from the first day services start. This means that ACES will work with clients and caregivers to identify long-term goals that the entire Care Team will be working towards. Our goal is to provide intensive and comprehensive services to help clients gain functional skills that help them build independence.Return to Menu
- What Does an Assessment Look Like?
- Physical Assessment appointments are typically two (2) hours and will primarily take place at your local clinic. Some funding sources will require a second observation at a second location (i.e., home, playground, etc.). These hours are made up of a combination of direct and indirect billing.
- The assessment will include questionnaires and standardized assessments that your Assessor will work through with you, observation of the person seeking services, and direct interaction and probing of skills. Your Assessor will answer questions about ACES services, give tours of our facility, and provide guidance on the next steps.
- Depending on your Insurance provider your assessor may meet with you 1-3 times to do observations and formal assessments in person, which mean Direct billing. The definition of Indirect billing means there is work that Assessors do when they are not physically present with you and this typically happens after your first in-person appointment.
- These tasks may include reviewing past records, scoring standardized assessments, coordination of care and creating a proposed treatment plan for your funding source to approve. Our program manager will also review the treatment plan before it is submitted to your insurance.
