ACES in Center: Focused Social Group (Art)
Event Details

🎨Feeling artsy? Come on over and join us for a creative, hands-on experience where clients can express themselves through art while building meaningful social skills. In this supportive group, clients will explore fun projects—like colorful paintings and imaginative crafts—all designed to encourage communication, collaboration, and confidence.

👩🏻‍🎨During this session, participants will focus on:

  • Social Interaction: Working collaboratively with peers, sharing materials, and engaging in positive conversations while creating art together.

  • Following Directions: Practicing step-by-step instruction following—from setting up supplies to completing each part of an art project.

  • Waiting and Turn-Taking: Learning patience and cooperation as participants wait for shared materials and take turns with tools.

  • Self-Advocacy: Encouraging children to express preferences, such as choosing colors, materials, or asking for help when needed.

  • Fine Motor Skills: Strengthening motor coordination through tasks like cutting, drawing, painting, gluing, and manipulating small craft materials.

  • Daily Living Skills: Building practical skills such as organizing a workspace, caring for art tools, and participating in setup and cleanup routines.

🖌️This interactive class is not only a canvas for creativity but also a valuable opportunity to build independence, confidence, and essential life skills—one colorful masterpiece at a time!
